In every generated company report, Kruncher has one of at the bottom:
This guide covers how to customize how they are generated.
Read this guide to learn how to view which memo you will see other than the Investment Memo.
First, let's learn the the differences between Investment Memo, Portfolio Performance Report, and Preparation Notes.
Example of a generated Investment Memo.
Investment Memo: A memo on the opportunity generated based on your custom prompt.
Portfolio Performance Report: A quarterly report of this company based on your custom prompt.
Preparation Notes: Key facts and summary of a company that act as notes you use, usually to prepare to give a presentation of. This is also customized based on your prompt.
To access the prompt editor, you have two options:
Option 1
Click on the "Customize AI Prompt" button at the bottom right of the memo. This will redirect you to the Settings page containing the prompt editor.
Option 2
Manually go to Settings (⚙️) on the top right -> Investment & Portfolio Memo on the left tab.
Here, scroll down to find the prompt fields for each of the generated section.
These prompts work like a message you send to LLMs like ChatGPT/Claude/Gemini to perform a specific task, provide context, and lay down output structures.
Simply edit the text directly per your own fund's needs.
When done, click on the "Save Changes" button.
IMPORTANT: Changes will only take place for new analysis that is done after you made the edit. Edited prompts will not change existing memos.
You can also edit a specific memo's text, if you would rather edit directly than revising the prompt and trigger a new re-analysis.
Click the "Expand" button on the bottom left of a memo and a text editor will pop-up, allowing you to edit text and formatting.
This will just edit the text of the memo and not affect the prompt.
Next, learn how to export your investment memo, portfolio performance report or preparation notes into a nicely formatted Word/PDF/PowerPoint document.
